Bushman, Alonzo and Edith

Alonzo E. Bushman was born in St. Joseph (now Joseph City), Arizona Dec. 21, 1885. He is the son of John Bushman and Lois Angeline Smith, who were among the original settlers in this community.

He married Edith Smith June 10, 1914 at Salt Lake City, Utah. They were parents of seven children, all living at this date.

Alonzo attended schools in Joseph City, the Snowflake Stake Academy and two years at Brigham Young University. In 1910 he was called and filled a two year mission for the church in the Central States Mission.

Edith Smith was the daughter of Joseph W. Smith and Nellie Marsden. She was educated in the schools of Snowflake and the Arizona State Teachers College at Flagstaff, Arizona.

They built one nice home in Joseph and then moved to Mesa, later returning to Joseph City and built another nice home. They now live in Mesa, Arizona.

They have both been very active in the church and in the community, holding many positions of trust and responsibility.
