I spent all of my youth in the same house that I was born in. I attended grade school and junior high in Fairview, then went to Mt. Pleasant, where I finished high school at North Sanpete High School. My summers were largely spent helping my father, Hugh Cheney Anderson, on our little farm. I appreciate this atmosphere in which I was raised. After I graduated from high school I attended BYU for two years and then served a mission to the Great Lakes. This was enjoyable to me and has certainly been a highlight of my life. I returned to BYU after my mission and received a B. S. degree from there. While in my senior year, 1962, I became very sick with ulcerative colitis and spent most of the year in the hospital or recuperating from the illness and surgeries. About a year before I was sick I met Judith Ralph at BYU. We were planning on getting married but postponed it when I got so sick. It was nearly a year after we had first set the date that we were finally married.

I am really thankful for my wife because she stayed by me through a very trying time of my life. We were married June 12, 1963 in the Logan Temple and now have five children:
Annette, born December 4, 1964
Terry Bruce, born July 7, 1966
Heather Marie, born May 26, 1968
Barbara Jean, born January 31, 1970
David Hugh, born December 17, 1972

We are expecting a new baby in January of 1975.  We live in Richfield, Utah, where I am a medical technologist at the Sevier Valley Hospital
